Les Jolies Choses Workshop and Showrooms are at the Viables Craft Centre which during the 1800's was a family run farm. In the 60's the land was compulsory purchased for the M3 and Basingstoke redevelopment and the farm buildings converted into workshop units. Now it has 16 permanent, independent crafts people operating out of the converted cattle stalls, stables and bull pens, which provides a compelling and unique destination to visit.

Les Jolies Choses opened in January 2008 by Gillian Griffith who has a passion for painting furniture in the French Country Style, using skills and techniques learnt on various courses, giving each piece of furniture its unique finish. By gilding, distressing and using the wonderful array of Farrow & Ball paints each item becomes a bespoke piece for you to take home and enjoy.

Walking through the showrooms you can choose from an ever-changing selection of furniture that you would like painted and give it a new lease of life. Gillian will be happy to advise you on colours and finishes so that the pieces complement your room with existing furniture and soft furnishings.

There are many things to view in the Showrooms and Gillian encourages you to browse leisurely and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Walk through the rooms and you will find affordable items such as occasional tables, chest of drawers, chairs, shelves, mirrors, dining tables and cupboards. You will also find some antique pieces mixed with the painted furniture showing how different pieces sit well together and give impact to your room.

To co-ordinate the French Country look you can select fabrics from the Kate Forman range and complement with cushions and lamps shades. Accessories are in the form of lamps, candles, tea lights, books, trays and hearts of many descriptions. Also in the lobby area are an assortment of gardenalia such as watering cans, pots, ladders, lanterns and so much more.
